I think I am going to have my first cigar in Italy tonight

As I arrived at the studio this morning the head master was preparing for his slaves to start work. He really does have just about everything you need to work at the bench, you just have to find it.

This is my first project.  I started it yesterday. It is made of silver and is all constructed and soldered. There are no cast parts, mainly because I don’t think he trusts me with molten metal. This is before setting the stone.

This is after setting the stone but prior to final steam cleaning. The stone is a London Blue Topaz.

…another piece.

An interesting detail – because the head master belongs to the Firenze Silver Guild and I made this ring under his supervision I get to stamp the ring with the Guilds mark.

The final clean will happen first thing tomorrow and then I start on a new project.

I think I am going to have my first cigar in Italy tonight.

Smoking a cigar on the steps of Santa Croce Basilica.
