Spencer Has Arrived

Spencer and I made arrangements for me to meet him at the train/bus/taxi station and then walk to the apartment.  As I was headed to the stations I started to notice traffic was stopped in all directions and the only thing working was the horns on the cars.  I finally got to the location in the photo above and found that a bus had squeezed a car between the bus and the building to the left of the bus and a lady was trapped in the car.

So I have a question for you – What do you call a situation on Italian streets that requires the cooperative problem solving of several different agencies including the civiians on the streets who also have an opinion.  In this case you call it GRID LOCK.

You may think this is going to be another jab at using Italian Zuppa spoons.  Not true.  I simply wanted to show the wonderful color of Riollita.  This is a soup made from leftover vegitables and bread,

Spencer felt strong after a quick clean up and was ready to hit the streets.  Suprisingly there were very few people in the front yard.  I think a sign of repect to Spencer.

We decided to take an orientation walk just to get Spencer ready to find his own way back if needed.  We stopped quickly at the Palazzo Vecchio and I was captured by this view to the top of the tower from inside the Palazzo.

I am going to need some time to figure this one out.

For the next night we had made resevations for dinner at Buca Mario.  Buca, in Italian, means below.  So this is Mario’s restaurant below street level.  On the way we stopped and had a drink at a Bar in the Piazza Vecchio.  I need to remember those pretty dinks are full of alcohol.

We made it to Buca Mario’s and some how our table filled up with wine.

I will let you interpret that smile, but I think the meal was pretty good.  Here is a link to the restaurant.  https://www.bucamario.com/

I think this is out of order but it serves the purpose of verifying we either walked to or from somwhere to find our way to the Doumo.
